- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space FlightCenter is releasing a Cooperative Agreement Notice (CAN) in order to identify successfulsummer and other out-of-school programs that currently include one or both of the firsttwo Categories of Interest - (1) Student Achievement Impact with tangible evidence of apositive correlation between program participation and improved academic achievement inthe subsequent, follow-on school year;(2) Science, Technology, Engineering, andMathematics (STEM) Careers Exploration with evidence of a positive impact between programparticipation and increased awareness of, and interest in STEM careers and careerpathways. Upon its release date this CAN will be available electronically through NASA Solicitationand Proposal Integrated Review and Evaluation System (NSPIRES) athttp://nspires.nasaprs.com and click on Solicitations. Proposals will be accepted from non-profit organizations, state-based educationalleadership organizations, and U.S. school districts that provide and deliver summer orother out-of-school learning programs, and that can demonstrate positive impact measuresbetween their program and improved student academic learning and/or STEM careerexploration. Proposal due date is July 16, 2010. Proposals must be submitted by the AuthorizingOrganizational Representative (AOR) no later than July 16, 2010, 11:59 p.m. EDT. Allproposers, team members, and agency officials must be registered before proposalsubmission to NSPIRES. This solicitation leading to the award of a Cooperative Agreement is issued pursuant totitle 14 CFR Part 1260 for educational and nonprofit institutions and 14 CFR part 1274for commercial organizations.Notwithstanding the posting of this opportunity at FedBizOpps.gov, Grants.gov, or at bothsites, NASA reserves the right to determine the appropriate award instrument for eachproposal selected pursuant to this announcement.Direct questions specifically regarding this solicitation to: Bonnie J.
