- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity proposes to award Hitachi High Technologies America, Inc., 5100 Franklin Drive, Pleasanton, CA 94588-3355 on a on a quarterly basis on a Scanning Electron Microscope Model # S-4500 purchased in 1996. This particular model is used for research purposes at United States Army Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), 1425 Porter Street, Fort Detrick, MD. The requirements to overhaul, repair, and provide maintenance and technical support to services for a U.S. Army/Government owned medical and laboratory equipment. To most companies it is an outdated series currently on hand. Competing this requirement and awarding to any other source would result in substantial delays. This procurement shall be under other than full and open competition procedures in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quote. Any response to this notice must be submitted in writing to the Government and show clear and convincing evidence that another source is capable of meeting the Governments requirements and that competition of the requirement would be advantageous to the Government. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. After the publication of this announcement for fifteen (15) days, solicitation W81XWH-10-T-0306 will be posted for approximately 5 days.
