Description

RECOVERY: The purpose of this project is to reduce hazardous fuels and non-native invasive species (NNIS) with the goal of decreasing the size of invasive plant populations through repeated treatments using an integrated pest management (IPM) strategy to a point where staff and volunteers can take over invasive species control. Areas to be treated include pastures, prairie remnants, wetlands, woodlands, old fields, restorations and roadsides. Target species include: bush honeysuckle, autumn olive, multiflora rose, willow, dogwood, osage orange, cottonwood, hawthorn, black locust, and ash trees on the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, Illinois. This project will be solicited "unrestricted."
