Description

The U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement for design and installation of telemetry infrastructure. The Grass Mountian telemetry site will function to repeat analog seismic data from sensors near Mount Rainier to University of Washington on existing licensed VHF frequencies and to receive and concentrate digital data links from Mount Rainier then telemeter the digital data to an existing digital microwave installation at Three Sisters Peak using 900 Mhz or other license-free tranceivers. The data will then be carried on available bandwidth provided on the Pierce County microwave system to an Internet connection in Tacoma, Washington. The data can then be accessed from the CVO, allowing real-time improved monitoring of Mount Ranier. All work will be completed by 09/30/2010 and the installation phase will be completed by 09/30/2011. RFQ 10ERQQ0380 will be issued on or about 06/14/2010 with written quotes due on or about 07/14/2010. The anticipated award date of the contract is 07/26/2010. A vendor must be registered at http://www.ccr.gov prior to award to be considered for award. The RFQ once submitted, may be viewed on the Department of Interior's Business Opportunities Web Page at http://ideasec.nbc.gov.
