Description

THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The resulting contract will utilize funds provided by the AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) OF 2009. Interested parties are notified that the inclusion of unique provisions required in implementing the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency, will be required of the successful bid. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing an Invitation for Bid (IFB). If the IFB is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective vendors should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after June 10, 2010 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This requirement is being solicited as a Invitation for Bid (IFB) under FAR Part 14. Bids are due at July 12, 2010; 1:00 P.M. MT. A single firm-fixed price type contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder based upon price and price-related factors. ALL SEALED BIDS SHOULD BE MAILED TO: USDA/FOREST SERVICES-INTERMOUNTAIN EROC ATTN: PHYLLIS R. COBURN-HARRIEL 740 SIMMS ST GOLDEN, CO 80401 REF SOL#: AG-82B1-S-10-0425 PROJECT DESCRIPTION. Asphalt Package – 4 Upper Aquarius and Road 247 - This project will consist of crack sealing with and with out routing, cut out and patch sections, and pothole and skin patching of Road 247, from milepost 23.7 to milepost 29.6, Also included are asphalt repairs at the Canyon Work Center adminstrative site. In addition, this project will consist the reconstruction of the USFS Road 247 and 700 intersection, which includes but is not limited to ashphalt and culvert removal, roadway excavation and embankment, placing both sub base and surface aggregate, and placing hot mix asphalt. Optional items include chip sealing Road 247 from the milepost 23.7 to milepost29.6, chip sealing the Canyon Work Center administrative site, and asphalt repairs to the Kelly Fork Work Center administrative site. The magnitude of this project IAW FAR 36.204 (d) is between $250,000 and $500,000. There will not be a pre-bid meeting/site visit held on this project. Projected start date is July 2010 with completion not later than September 3, 2010 Performance and Payments will be required per the Miller Act and Davis-Bacon wage rates will apply. This project will be FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION. PROJECT LOCATION. To reach the project take State Hwy 11 to Headquarters, ID located, North of Pierce ID. At Headquarters, turn left and take USFS Road 247 to milepost 23.7. This is the beginning of the project. The canyon Work Center is located just off USFS Road 247 at milepost 26.0. To reach Kelly Forks Work Center take USFS Road 250 out of Pierce ID. Kelly Forks Work Center is located along USFS Road 250 at milepost 46.4. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Vendors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http:www.ccr.gov or call 888-227-2423 or 269-961-5757 and shall complete the On-Line Registration and Certifications Application (ORCA) http://orca.bpn.gov.
