Description
SILL BEAM FABRICATION This is a pre-solicitation notice. The Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District intends to procure two custom fabricated downstream Sill Beams, with an option for 2 more making a total of 4 Sill Beams as well as appurtenances and struts to support the dewatering bulkheads near the downstream miter gates of the respective sites. The approximate weight of each 110 foot long sill beam is 30,000 lbs. All carbon steel shapes and plate shall conform to ASTM A572 Grade 50. All stainless steel alloys shall conform to ASTM A276, type 304. Welding of carbon steel shall conform to AWS D1.1 and all electrodes shall be E70xx unless otherwise noted. Welding of stainless steel alloys shall conform to AWS D1.6. Sill beams shall be painted with a vinyl pint system. Shop drawings shall be provided prior to fabrication for government approval. Requirement will include down stream struts and appurtenances. Contractor shall be responsible for shipment of all finished products (FOB Delivered) to USACE as stated on the statement of work. The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 12 and 13.5. The anticipated award date is on or around 01 August 2010. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. The solicitation will be advertised as a Service Disabled Veteran set-aside for small business in accordance with FAR 19.1405. For the purpose of determining small business eligibility, the Contracting Officer has determined the NAICS code for this effort to be 332312 (500 employees). Only firms who are recognized by the Small Business Administration as Service Disabled Veterans are eligible for award.
