- Description
- THIS ANNOUNCEMENT HAS BEEN EDITED. CHANGE OF EMAIL FOR POINT OF CONTACT AND SUBMISSION OF COMMENTS. DATES FOR COMMENTS HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JUNE 18, 2010 at 5 p.m. Local Time. A SECOND MEETING TO DISCUSS THIS SCOPE OF WORK HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 7, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the USAID office at the US Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica. To register, please send email to JMRCO@usaid.gov. The United States Agency for International Development in Jamaica (USAID/Jamaica) is requesting comment on the attached scope of work that will serve as a base for a future solicitation to promote a more peaceful and transparent democracy through safer communities, improved policing, and increased acountability and integrity in government. The program will capitalize on existing USAID investments in the sector and build on new opportunities that promote community-based partnerships to prevent crime and violence, support the rule of law, control corruption, increase citizen participation and youth engagement, and create leadership for reform. The activity is designed as a five-year effort, estimated to begin in January 2011, with estimated funding to range from $13 to $18 million. Additional funding of up to $25 million may become available through the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI). Organizations interested in commenting on the scope of work should prepare a document in MSWord and send via email to JMRCO@usaid.gov. No hand carried or mailed documents will be accepted during this commenting stage. Comments should be limited to enhancing, changing or building on the programmatic issues outlined in the scope of work. Questions concerning the scope of work should also be addressed in the comments document. There will be an open meeting to discuss the scope of work on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in Kingston, Jamaica. Any organization wishing to send representatives to the meeting should respond by sending a list of attendees to USAID/Jamaica at JMRCO@usaid.gov. Please include the full name, title and organization in the request. All individuals and/or organizations responding will be sent information on the place and time of this open meeting. Phone reservations will not be accepted. USAID/Jamaica encourages organizations with strong ties to Jamaica to consider commenting on this scope of work and submitting comments. Interested vendors should add their organization to the FEDBIZOPPS Interested Vendors Listing. We thank you for your interest in USAID/Jamaica.
