Description
RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER(S): APS Survey and Mapping, W912DW-09-D-1015 RECOVERY--Geophysical investigations at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Howard Hanson Dam Project, located in King County, Washington. The purpose of the work is to identify seepage paths (and groundwater flows) through the embankment and right abutment of the project site. Results from this investigation will assist USACE in determining the hydraulic connectivity and preferential seepage flow paths that the water is following between the reservoir and the downstream areas, and providing information to determine the most feasible remedial measures. The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, personnel, and supervision to conduct seepage mapping surveys in accordance with these specifications and applicable schedules, using a magnetic-based groundwater mapping method. The objective of the groundwater investigation is to determine the preferential flow paths that may exist between the reservoir, the right abutment, and the downstream areas; and to show where the seepage of water originates and moves through and/or under the embankment.
