Description
This synopis is for informational purposes only. The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) intends to issue a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) contract to Nevada Automotive Test Center (NATC) of Reno, NV, for testing, engineering support services, technical support, systems engineering, program management, and logistical support for ground wheeled vehicle systems within PEO Land Systems (LS) and MCSC as a sole source contract. Tasks to be included in orders placed against this BOA include the following: Vehicle testing, to include but not limited to: Accelerated Life; Durability; Vehicle Dynamics; Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Durability (RAM-D); provide and install vehicle instrumentation to monitor Acceleration, Speed, Temperature, Flow, Pressure, Force/Torque, Stress Analysis, Sound, Light, Displacement/Proximity, GPS tracking, Toxic Gas, Electrical Power Loads, Electrical Properties and Parameters; and provide and install vehicle instrumentation requ! ired to obtain data for model parameters and to verify modeling and simulation predictions. Systems Engineering support may include the following: Engineering/technical assessments of test failures; Review and recommendations related to prime contractor responses to test incident reports; Engineering/technical recommendations for correction of test related issues; Preparation of documentation of test results (test reports, test incident reports, etc.); Modeling & simulation, including mobility modeling and other computer based simulations of vehicle and test events; Development and application of test related instrumentation; and other engineering support for PEO LS test requirements. Any data deliverable required as a result of the services performed will be defined at the time of tasking. Data may include, but is not limited to drawings and technical manuals. NATC is the only qualified contractor within the United States capable of providing the services required as a result of the unique facilities, test ranges, and automotive engineering test expertise. NATC's facilities are uniquely situated where the terrain profile covers the elevation ranges from below sea level to 10,000 feet in altitude. NATC is the only test site that provides the United States Marine Corps (USMC) with access to long grades and mountain roads to evaluate brake system performance under conditions representative of the USMC training and operational areas.
