Description
This is a 'Sources Sought' notice. Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ is considering writing a single Commercial Firm-Fixed Price Purchase Order for a Pentacam HR: Pentacam Scheimpflug camera, x-y-z base, head and chin rest, Windows software, module for two separate computers, power supply, USB cable, dust cover, electric table, computer, wireless mouse, mini key-board. Belin-Ambrosio Enhanced Ecstasia software and 3-D Cataract Analysis with Pentacam Nucleus Staging Software, Pachymetry software for Pentacam, Densitometry Software for Pentacam, 3-D Chamber Analyzer Software for Pentacam, Corneal Topography Software for Pentacam or equal. The required System shall enable optometrists to analyze the anterior segment with accuracy that was previously unavailable. The Pentacam or equal must include a program to detect and quantify keratoconus based on anterior topography as well as pachymetry data. This tool shall provide information about the stability of the cornea. The anterior and posterior corneal surface is described separately by polynomials based on measured elevation in data. Together the corneal wavefront analysis and keratoconus detection improve the pre-operative screening for patients who are interested in refractive surgery. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 339115; the requirement under this sources sought notice is estimated at 500 employees. One critical element the government will address during this exploratory phase is to attempt to determine contractor capabilities. Selection will be based on past performance and technical capability. This acquisition will be solicited using FAR Part 14 and FAR Part 19. A determination will be made once all information is reviewed for the type of Small Business set-aside concern. However; if the government receives inadequate responses from Small Business concerns, the government will use all information obtained from this sources sought request to determine what type, if any, set-aside to utilize. To be eligible for award, the contractor must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Register via the CCR website http://www.ccr.gov. Any questions regarding this notice should be directed to Amn Macy Benjamin, at (520) 228-3873 or by email to: macy.benjamin@dm.af.mil. Please respond no later than close of business 28 May 2010.
