The objective of this innovation effort is to provide for Improvement of Inpatient Glucose Control through Integrated Systems of Care: by refining the Glycemic Monitoring Window (GMW) through broadening the approach of the window to be used throughout the VA and developing a GMW that meets enterprise standards and is poised for release nationwide. The Contractor shall provide technical services with demonstrable skills in MUMPS, Delphi, and VA information architecture (VistA) Two (2) laptop computers will be provided as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) for the duration of the project that will contain the appropriate VA software and data for development and testing. The scope is to provide Improving Inpatient Glucose Control through Integrated Systems of Care in support of the VHA Innovations program. Glucose control is a national priority. The VA information architecture does not offer an efficient tool for inpatient glucose control. Current tools force clinicians to assemble fragmented data from multiple places in the electronic medical record. This fragmentation results in less efficient, quality care. Software that aggregates real-time, patient data into a single display viewed at the point of care has been developed, Glycemic Monitoring Window (GMW). The aim of this project is to 1) refine the GMW and broaden the approach so that it can be used throughout the VA and 2) develop a GMW that meets enterprise standards and is poised for release nationwide.
