Description
The U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for a Fully Found Vessel, operating personnel, facilities, fuel, oil, food and support equipment as specified, to conduct a geophysical and coring survey providing a regional framework of the surficial geology and shallow sub-bottom stratigraphy in the near shore area off the coast of Massachusetts. The objective of this survey is to produce interpretive maps of the sea floor geology with particular applications to coastal erosion and marine habitat studies in cooperative work with the State of Massachusetts. Work will be conducted in waters as shallow as 5 meters. The survey will require one cruise comprised of one leg. The Point of Origin for this operation will be Woods Hole, MA. The vessel shall be available for mobilization in Woods Hole on September 8, 2010. The vessel shall be scheduled to depart for the cruise area on September 9, 2010 given all mobilization requirements have been fulfilled, returning on September 16, 2010. USGS equipment shall be de-mobilized by 2400 hours, September 16, 2010. The USGS paid lease portion of the cruise shall run from 00:01 September 8, 2010 through 2400 September 16, 2010 for a total of nine days. Interim port stop locations are as yet undetermined. These shall be scheduled "as necessary" for weather, supplies and equipment failure. RFQ 10ERQQ0347 will be issued on May 20, 2010 with written quotes due on July 6, 2010 The NAICS code is 488390. The anticipated award date of the contract is July 16, 2010. A vendor must be registered at http://www.ccr.gov to be awarded the contract.
