Description
NASA/NSSC has a requirement for a course entitled Building Resilience andTransforming Stress. The objective of the training is learn to use the emWave Desktopto teach the physiology of stress, resilience and performance and a practical skill-set. Students will learn techniques to enable leaders to respond dynamically and effectivelyto complexity, pressure, emotional challenge and change. The emWave PSR will beincorporated to reduce stress and increase resilience levels through the workshop andgive skills to use in the future. Focus will be on anchoring the skills learned byapplying them to current leadership issues, challenges and projects. The vendor shall beresponsible for providing all training materials. The vendor shall conduct threesessions as follows; 1) 2 hour group session with emWave Desktop; 2) 5 week onlineprogram consisting of five 1-hour sessions with emWave PSR, Program guidebook, onlinesupport, program reminders and homework, pre and post personal and organizational qualityassessment; and 3) 4 hour group session based on the book Chaos to Coherence. Theintroduction session will take place July 14, 2010, the second session will take placeJuly 16 August 30, 2010, and the final session will take place September 15 or 16,2010. Training shall be held at NASAs Glenn Research Center.NASA/NSSC intends to purchase the training course from Heartmath LLC, 14700 W Park Ave,Boulder Creek, CA 95006-9318. Pursuant to FAR 13.106, the acquisition of these serviceshas been determined to be reasonably available from only one source. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon June 4, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, whichshall be considered by the agency.Capabilities and qualifications should be submitted to Megan Willis atMegan.M.Willis@nasa.gov.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
