- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Pacific Biosciences, 1505 Adams Drive, Menlo Park, CA 94025, for the following line items: 1) Sequencing Apparatus, Part Number 000-693-241, PacBio RS, to include Blade Center, Software Suite and Installation Kit; 2) Extended Warranty, Part Number 000-693-132, PacBio Extended Warranty for one additional year warranty covering all parts and labor required for the repair and maintenance of installed equipment; 3) Freight. This requirement is subject to the availability of funds. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR A COMMERCIAL ITEM PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE SOLICITATION; A SEPARATE WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy the Agency's requirements because this is the only product that can meet the requirements for throughput and existing lab-specific platforms/equipment. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government.
