- Description
- Marine Corps Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S); Industry DayConference Notice; Purpose: The Program Executive Office, Land Systems (PEO LS) CAC2S Program Manager, and the Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM),Quantico, VA, will host an Industry Day conference on 10 June 2010 at American Systems, 3600 Pointe Center Court, Second Floor, Dumfries, VA 22026. The CAC2S Industry Day will provide industry with a description of the current state of the CAC2S Program. Industry will be provided an opportunity to ask questions about the program and the intended future solicitations. The intent of the Industry Day is to provide advance information about the program to Industry and obtain feedback to assist MARCORSYSCOM with structuring future solicitations. Background: PEO LS is the Corps' first PEO and is comprised of eightweapons systems programs. PEO LS is a separate command, reporting directlyto the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research Development andAcquisition (ASN RDA). PEO LS maintains an integral relationship with MarineCorps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) (http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil) thatleverages infrastructure, competencies and technical authority. Requirement: PEO LS and MARCORSYSCOM are interested in pursuing a programmatic approach that will lead to the acquisition of systems to meet the Marine Corps' need for a modernized, expeditionary, modular, scalable, and adaptable aviation command and control capability. The revised acquisition strategy is based on an evolutionary acquisition approach that will facilitate rapid development and fielding of capabilities in increments and phases. Increment I collectively groups requirements into the following functional areas: Communications Subsystem (CS), Processing and Display Subsystem (PDS), and Sensor Data Subsystem (SDS). The CS and PDS baseline requirements will be met through modification of existing Marine Corps Systems Command fielded equipment, specifically upgrades to the AN/MRQ-12(v)3 Communications Interface System (CIS), which is currently fielded with the Marine Air Command and Control System (MACCS), and upgrades to the AN/TSQ-239 Combat Operations Center (COC), a system that is widely fielded throughout the Marine Corps. The SDS will be developed and fielded upon the baseline hardware foundation created by the early implementation of the CS and PDS following an assessment of mature technologies than can meet SDS requirements.
