- Description
- Two awards were created as a result of this RFQ: HHSP233201000075W (Tucson Area) in the amount of $81,666 and HHSP233201000076W (Oklahoma City Area) in the amount of $88,701. Brand Name Justification: The VistA Imaging hardware and software platforms have been certified as a medical device by the FDA; therefore there are very specific requirements concerning the types of equipment that must be used for scanning, storing, and archiving images. The FDA requires that hardware vendors pursuing certification must go through the Veteran Administrations validation process. Hewlett Packard has completed the validation process and is certified to provide the hardware, installation, and maintenance services for VistA Imaging. As part of the equipment purchase, HP provides the following: Assemble equipment in the rack and deliver to site ready to go; Provide pre-site visit to facility to make sure that the computer room is ready, all equipment was delivered, and give an overview of the system to the staff; Provide field engineer to work with the facility staff to configure the equipment and train staff to maintain system; Provide on going support for hardware problems. Additionally, a delivery order was awarded for a dedicated VistA Imaging infrastructure support Expertise Center. The contract provides support for the sites that have implemented VI, or will be implementing VI in 2009/2010. HP provides technical support to the medical facilities named below that use VI. The support is specifically for the HP VI hardware. Therefore, other VI VHA-certified brands cannot be accepted.
