RECOVERY ACT - THE NASA GLENN RESEARCH CENTER (GRC) HAS BEEN AUTHORIZED UNDER THEAMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 TO ISSUE A WORK ORDER FOR TESTING,FACILITIES, OPERATING, MAINTENANCE AND ENGINEERING UNDER THE PREVIOUSLY AWARDED,COMPETITIVE, 8(A) CONTRACT NNC05CA95C WITH SIERRA LOBO INCORPORATED. THIS NOTICE ISPROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY.NASA Glenn Research Center is procuring engineering services to develop control systemsfor the Engine Icing Capabilities Enhancements at the Propulsion Systems Laboratory,Building 125. This development work encompasses the engineering of control logic, computer programming and documentation related to process systems that are beinginstalled at the facility. The development of these control systems is necessary for thesafe and reliable operation of the process systems. Development of these control systemscontributes to the development of a system capable of simulating altitude icingconditions experienced by aircraft during flight. By providing this icing simulationcapability, NASA and its engine industry partners will be able to further theunderstanding of effects of icing conditions on engine performance and safety. Thisunderstanding is critical to the development of safer and more reliable aircraft enginesystems. This announcement will not result in a Request for Proposal; this announcement is forinformational purposes only.
