- This is not a request for proposals. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. The United States Coast Guard has a requirement for the manufacture of various Lighting Panels that are used on the United States Coast Guard Short Range Recovery aircraft (SRR/H65). These parts are considered commercial in nature. The parts to be manufactured must meet Class 1-NVIS "A", Type V (five) panels to support night operations. Panels also must provide incandescent lighting supporting 5 volt power source. Panels must also be manufactured as a two-piece item, with removable backs for bulb replacement and maintenance. Sources must also be able to comply and meet Aerospace Standard, SAE AS7788, and Military Standard MIL-STD-3009, superseding MIL-L-85762A, for all Night Vision Imaging System requirements. The manufacturer must have appropriate certification of their ability to make accurate illumination measurements of the markings of panels covered under the SAE AS7788 standard. After the review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, and if the Government still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be published on the Federal Business Opportunities website, www.fbo.gov. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not an adequate response to any future solicitation announcement. All companies that can meet the requirement are encouraged to provide a capability statement, company literature, brochures, or any other information that demonstrates that the requirement can be met. Telephone responses will NOT be accepted. Responses must be received no later than 3p.m. (EST) on Friday May 28, 2010 (Tuesday June 1, 2010) and should be submitted electronically to the following e-mail address: ewa.k.brown@uscg.mil in a Microsoft word compatible format or as a PDF. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. All interested parties must respond to the solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are NOT considered as a request to be added to a prospective offeror's list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. Reimbursement and/or compensation will not be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests.
