- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR QUOTE. The Wilkes Barre VAMC, 1111 East End Boulevard, Wilkes Barre, PA is performing market research to determine if there is a sufficient number of qualified vendors to provide Inpatient Psychiatry Services. The Government will use responses to this notice to make to an appropriate acquisition decision. The Contractor will provide psychiatrist staffing sufficient to support a 12 bed inpatient psychiatry unit. Coverage will consist of daily rounds, a minimum of once daily Sunday through Saturday, (including Federal holidays), specific timeframe is flexible based on the Contractor's schedule). Contractor is not required to physically be in the WBVAMC for the entire tour. Sunday and Federal Holiday coverage will consist of a telephone call from the Contractor to the Nursing Staff. The Nursing Staff will identify any new admissions or emergencies, followed by the Psychiatrist initiating rounds as deemed necessary. Rounding will consist of patient assessment, establish or update treatment plan, document and discuss treatment plan with Nursing Staff. Contractor must be accredited by The Joint Commission or maintain a level of service that is in compliance with all current The Joint Commission standards. Other specific requirements: 1) American Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Psychiatry (2) Degree of M.D. or D.O. with minimum 4 year intern residency completed (3) Valid and unrestricted Medical License (4) Current DEA (5) Current BCLS certification The qualifications of such personnel shall also be subject to review by the Credentialing and Privileging Committee and approval by the VA Facility Director. Contract personnel will also be required to undergo a VA Background Investigation, obtain VA credentials, provide proof of a negative PPD test, provide proof of liability insurance IAW VAAR 852.237-7 Indemnification and Medical Liability Insurance (JAN 2008) and take mandatory VA training annually, approximately 20 hours per year. Workload Statistics: Estimated 12 inpatients daily.
