Description
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS (Not a Notice of Solicitation) The United States Air Force, 88th Air Base Wing, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio is seeking potential sources to provide a laboratory vacuum pump for microelectronic fabrication. Firms responding should specify their products which meet the technical specifications provided below and provide detailed product information to show clear technical compliance. Additionally, sales history including recent commercial companies sold to should be included to determine commerciality. The requirement specifications are as follows: A laboratory vacuum pump is required to provide general vacuum for cleanroom lithographic processing and general related uses. Vacuum is required for numerous vacuum chucks on wafer spinners, sample testing and evaluation equipment. The specifications are as follows: 1. The pump must operate at 27 in. of Hg with a pump speed of 40 cfm. 2. The pump must be able to withstand the ingestion of small amounts of solvents such as acetone, isopropanol or methanol. 3. A compound liquid ring vacuum pump is direct coupled to a 5 HP motor. 4. The pump shall be constructed of cast iron with stainless steel shaft and impellers and equipped with mechanical seals. 5. Mounted at the pump suction will be an inlet check valve. 6. The pump shall be furnished with a full sealant recovery system including: Separator tank with liquid level gauge, Strainer, Temperature gauge (2), Heat exchanger, Globe valve, Compound gauge and Interconnecting piping. Vacuum ballast tank required. 7. Ability to set vacuum required. 8. Electrical service shall be 208V/3 phase/60 Hz. The Air Force anticipates eventually conducting a competitive acquisition for this award. All interested firms shall submit information demonstrating their capabilities to quickly produce the system within a short/urgent time-frame. Firms responding should indicate whether they are, or are not, a small business, a socially and economically disadvantaged business, or a woman owned business. The general definition of a small business is one that is independently owned and operated, is not dominant in the field of operation in which it is proposing on Air Force contracts and with its affiliates; and the number of employees does not exceed 500. NAICS Code to be used for this acquisition is 339113. The Air Force reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside based upon responses hereto for any subsequent acquisition. Respondents are further requested to indicate their status as a Foreign-owned/Foreign-controlled firm and any contemplated use of foreign national employees on this effort. Any information submitted by respondents to this sources sought synopsis is voluntary. The Air Force does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. Respondents should not construe this synopsis as a commitment by the Air Force for any purpose.
