- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Fayetteville VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina provides diagnostic and therapeutic services in medicine, surgery, rehabilitation medicine, psychiatry, and skilled nursing home care. This facility also provides homeless services to those Veterans requiring a transition program to aid homeless Veterans. The contract is intended for healthcare for homeless Veterans housing. The contractor shall furnish transitional housing for the beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Fayetteville VA Medical Center (VAMC). Temporary Rehabilitative Residential Shelter. Provide housing, to include, but not necessarily limited to, beds, restroom, bath, and kitchen facilities, and related furnishings. Adequate safety and security measures in accordance with VA standards and in conformance with state and local safety and health codes as outlined in 38 CFR, Section 17.53b in order to provide optimum safety for residents. The contractor shall furnish each veteran authorized care under this contract, housing, to include, but not necessarily limited to, beds, restroom, bath, and kitchen facilities, and related furnishings. Adequate security measures, e.g., bars on windows and doors and area fenced, in order to provide optimum safety for residents. Provide food for two balanced meals daily and snacks daily to each shelter resident. Contractor to provide personal hygiene items, first aid supplies, and storage as needed. Room and board to include a bed and other furnishings such as a dresser, storage, and linen for the bed. Provide access to a kitchen for preparation of two meals (breakfast and supper) a day, 7 days a week and availability of nutritious snacks between meals and bedtime for those requiring or desiring additional food, when it is not medically contraindicated. Provide a laundry facility for residents to do their own laundry or to have laundry done. The total number of beds required is seven (7). No patient will stay beyond the maximum time of 4 months. The period of performance is from July 1, 2010 (or date of award) through Oct 31, 2010 with four (4) one (1) year renewal optional periods that can be exercised by the Government. The NAICS code for this requirement is 623220. Size standard is $7.0 Million. This is a sources sought notice only. No formal solicitation document exists at this time.
