- Description
- Request for Information Dental Payment and Reimbursement Rate Data 1.0 Description The VA Denver Acquisition and Logistics Center (VA DALC) in support of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is seeking information from private industry to identify commercially available sources of payment and reimbursement rate data by Current Dental Terminology (CDT) code for dental procedures. Requirements include the following: 1. Data shall be provided to VA in an ASCII text file for integration into existing business information systems. No reporting functionality is required. 2.Data shall be provided at the CDT code level for dental procedures. 3.Data shall be provided nationally by the first 5 or first 3 level zip code region. 4.Data shall be provided at varying percentile levels for each region, preferably from the 40th to 100th percentile ranges. 5.The data provided must be current, based on claim or survey data obtained within the previous 12-15 months, with annual or semi-annual updates. 6.The data provided must be based on an adequate number of claim or survey data points within the time period and region to insure meaningful results. 7.The data must be provided in site license subscription format without specific limitation as to the number of and specific individuals who may access the information. The VA intends to use the data subscription as follows: 1.Data will be housed on one server location on VA's closed network for the use of VA employees conducting or overseeing dental program operations only. A non-operational backup copy will be housed on a second server in case of failure. 2.Data will be provided in interactive report format for authorized users of the data with express condition of use for VA internal operations only. 3.While access to data for all regions is a requirement, it is anticipated that between 1-3 individuals at each of 140 parent facilities will routinely access information pertinent to their facility. A limited number of VA Centralized Business Office and VA Office of Dentistry will also routinely access the information as required. Interested providers are invited to review the requirements and provide comments along with capabilities and ability to provide the desired data. Specifically, comments are encouraged in the following areas: 1.How would, or could the data be provided? 2.What data elements or types of data elements are included in your product? 3.How is the data purchased? Is it based on zip/geozip, per user, licensed per site or another pricing method? 4.If a license is required, how is it priced? Is there a one-time license fee or an annual licensing fee? 5.If license is required, would the VA have to purchase a license for each person or would the VA need to purchase one license with multiple employees accessing the data on a central server? 6.Is your data based on 3 digit geozip or the 5 digit zip code level? 7.What are the pro's and con's of using the 3 digit geozip versus the full 5 digit zip code level for the CDT pricing data? 8.How often is the data updated? 9.How many CDT records are considered necessary in your pricing tool to determine a valid price per CDT? 10.Do you have a contract with GSA? If yes, please provide the contract number. 2.0 This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Quotation (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFQ in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to issue a contract for this data. Furthermore, the VA is not seeking quotations and will not accept unsolicited quotations for this requirement. Respondees are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFQ, if any is issued. 3.0 Due Date: Submittal of requested information is requested not later than May 31, 2010. Questions regarding this announcement shall be submitted in writing by e-mail to the Contracting Officer at joy.bartlett@va.gov.
