Description
Introduction:FAR Part 10 requires the Government to conduct market research before developing new solicitation requirements for an acquisition. Results of market research are used to determine whether qualified sources exist and to obtain industry comments and information on future procurements. One of the ways the Government conducts market research is to hold an Industry Day. Industry Day provides a brief description of the Government's intentions regarding program/acquisition approach and identifies key events in the acquisition program schedule. Industry Day:The NAVSEA Contracts Directorate (NAVSEA 02) on behalf of Program Executive Office Submarines (PEO-SUB), Undersea Weapons Program Office (PMS 404), will be hosting an Industry Day to discuss the High Altitude Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Weapon Capability (HAAWC) Program. The HAAWC Industry Day is scheduled to be held at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Newport, Newport, RI on 16 June 2010 from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm (local time). To initiate registration, email your name(s) and email address by 26 May 2010 at 4:30 PM EDT to james.c.ferguson1@navy.mil to receive the formal registration instructions, visit request/security clearance requirements, and agenda. If you do not receive that information within seven days of your email, please re-send your request. Additional details will be included in the formal registration instructions. During Industry Day there will be NO opportunities for questions or discussions between individual industry representatives and Government technical Program Office representatives. The Government will, however, provide index cards to industry partners in attendance to document questions that arise during the conference. The Government will collect aLL index cards prior to the conclusion of Industry Day. The Government will respond to questions no later than 09 July 2010, via a follow-up FedBizOpps announcement. Draft RFP:NAVSEA 02 contemplates the issuance of a draft RFP for the potential HAAWC requirement. It is expected that the draft RFP will be issued prior to Industry Day. A formal announcement of the issuance of the draft RFP will be provided in a subsequent FedBizOpps announcement.
