Description
Savannah River Nuclear, Solutions, LLC (SRNS), managing contractor of the Savannah River Site (SRS) for the Department of Energy (DOE), solicits interested firms desiring to be considered for Davis-Bacon contract for work for closure of the D-Area Coal Pile Runoff Basin. Basin (CPRB) will be closed in two phases. Scope includes design and construction for Phase I and design only for Phase II. Phase I of the project will require: design and removal action (soil) at a 3,000 ft channelized stream with subsequent restoration to return the area to condition approaching the condition prior to industrialization of the area; design and removal action (soil) in the vicinity of a waste oil facility of the operating powerhouse; design for and reduction of the runoff from the coal storage area to the CPRB; design and construction for the coal storage area, which will be segregated into active and inactive portions; and design and construction for physically segregating the CPRB into active and inactive portions, with the inactive portion used to consolidate material from the removal actions described previously under a vegetative soil cover. Phase II of the project will require design only for completion of closure of the CPRB, requiring fill and a vegetative cover over the portion of the CPRB to remain active after completion of Phase I. Low levels of arsenic, PCB's and pesticides anticipated. HAZWOPER training required. Any company interested shall submit a letter of interest to David McCowan (email acceptable) before ????. Only firms who have a demonstrated safety performance equal to the following standards shall be eligible for award: 3-year average Interstate Experience Modification Rate of 1.0 or less, and a 3-year average Total Recordable Case Rate of 5.3 or less.
