- Description
- The Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center (NSRDEC) is seeking technical information for a new gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GCMS). The GC-MS is required to incorporate with a pyrolyzer which will volatilize some flame-retardant materials and send forward the volatiles to the GCMS for chemical analysis. In addition, this GCMS shall include the following at a minimum: (i) a capillary flow technology that allows leak-free, reliable in-oven capillary connections, vent free column changes and back flushing, (ii) a heated monolithic quartz quadruple which has optimal resolution and sensitivity, and allows robust, and maintenance-free operation, (iii) a triple-axis detector which maximizes signal to noise thus allows lower detection limit for trace components, (iv) an electronic pneumatic control (EPC) module to control pressure flow and enable precise retention time locking and repeatability. (v) a turn-top inlet which allows tool-free liner changes on the inlet for easy inlet maintenance. (vi) the analytical capability of Selected Ion Monitoring (SIM) functionality for increased sensitivity and full Scan for peak identification. (vii) an oil-free pump for easy vacuum pump maintenance (viii) an analytical software package that provides the ability to plot and do data analysis, and this software should be compatible with the data files from our existing GC and MS systems from Agilent Technologies. This Request for Information should be considered an open call for providing the governments gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GCMS) equipment needs. An USA manufacturer is required for the GC-MS to reduce parts and repair costs, and the risk of damage from shipping and handling. This RFI is solely for information purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or the issuance thereof. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Any information submitted will not be returned, and no payment will be made by the government for such information. Any information/samples submitted will not be returned, and no payment will be made by the government for such samples. Responses to this notice are to be sent to Pearl Yip, ATTN: RDNS-WSC-M, 15 Kansas St., Natick, MA 01760-5019. This notice is for market survey only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. POC for this request is Pearl Yip (pearl.yip@us.army.mil). Email your questions to US Army Natick Soldier Research, Development, and Engineering Center at pearl.yip@us.army.mil.
