- Description
- RECOVERY DESCRIPTION: Lake Ottawa Phase II - Improvements on the Civilian Conservation Corp Structures Building and Site Improvements at the Ottawa National Forest, Iron River Ranger District, Iron River, Michigan. This project involves maintenance / repair of three Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) buildings and one boat ramp / launch. A) Work on the Log Picnic Shelter building includes: A1) repairing the following by replacement: A1.1) roof elements / system; A1.2) concrete floor, base & sub-base; A1.3) concrete walks adjacent to the building. A2) It also includes repairing the concrete foundation, A3) the stone fireplaces & chimneys (flues, liners, spark arrestors, firebox, lintels, tuck pointing, stone work, etc), and A4) log / structure repair work (Ridgepole, Purlins, Log Posts, Logs near chimney(s), Corner logs, Log walls, etc.). A5) It also includes the construction of an accessbile path from the road to the building & nearby fountain / hydrant. B) Work on the Pavilion / Day-Use Building includes: B1) board & batten siding repair, and B2) lavatory (vanity / counter top, sink / basin, fixtures, etc.) repair by replacement in the restrooms. C) Work on the Wastewater Treatment building includes: C1) roof repair via replacement, C2) windows & window frames repair via replacement, and C3) door repair via replacement. D) Work on the boat ramp / launch working in & out of the water, removing / modifying / re-installing (intact) existing elements / components of the boat ramp / launch (storing for modification & later re-installation), dredging, backfilling, grading, shaping, erosion control, and add'l concrete boat ramp element / component purchase & installation. Work on the buildings must comply with salient and applicable Historic regulations, codes, and standards. PROJECT LOCATION: The project site is located within 6 miles of Iron River, Michigan. From the intersection of highways US-2 & M-189 in Iron River, travel westerly along US-2 for 1.4 miles +/- to the intersection of highways US-2 & M-73. Thence, travel south-westerly along M-73 for 0.8 miles +/- to the intersection of highway M-73 & Lake Ottawa Road. Finally, travel westerly along Lake Ottawa Road for 4.1 miles +/- to the entrance to Lake Ottawa Campground. Location: Iron County, MI, T43N, R36W, sections 35 & 36 of Hagerman Lake Quadrangle map. *Price Range for this project is: Between $100,000 - $250,000* Set a-side determination will be made at time of solicitation Posting. This project is funded in whole by the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
