- This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals. The Government is not responsible for any costs incurred for any response to this notice. Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Quantico, VA, intends to award a sole source contract to Springfield Armory of 420 West Main Street, Geneseo, IL 61254 under FAR 6.302-1(c), Application for Brand Name Description. This effort will satisfy the Government's requirement for a Slide, for the M45 pistol. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide supplies sought including pricing data sufficient enough to determine that a comparable source to the government is available. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider other proposals received prior to 13 May 2010 3:00pm EST. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 332994, Small Arms Manufacturing, and the SBA size standard is 500 employees.
