Description
Description REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) The Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems, (PEO EIS) Fort Belvoir, Virginia is seeking information from industry to identify possible capabilities to produce military specific software applications for mobile devices, to include, but not limited to smart phones and slate computers. Target operating environments include, but are not limited to, the Apple iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows Mobile platforms. The applications may be interactive in nature enabling soldiers to conduct or participate in technical and non-technical training and day-to-day operations. The applications must be shareable across the Army and the Department of Defense, and have the capability to access other knowledge sources. The applications may provide training in the form of videos, manuals, and/or interactive exercises. The primary purpose of this RFI is to identify sources capable of the development and implementation of these applications. Additional areas of interest are the capabilities, methods, services and products available to: 1)Distribute and load applications to the target devices, tracking the distribution and delivery updates and patches to the applications; 2)The hosting/delivery of web-based applications to the target devices, awareness of the capabilities and limitations of the target device form factor, operating system, browser and bandwidth. This RFI is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. The Army will properly handle all information received in response to this RFI that is marked Proprietary. The Army will not return responses to the RFI. Responses to this notice are not offers and the Government will not accept them to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI.
