Description
Note: The archive date does not reflect the solicitation due date. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking competent and qualified General Contractors interested in providing offers for the work associated with the sewer repair located at the FAA TRACON, 2700 West Terminal Road, Houston TX. The work will consists of but is not limited to: Remove approximately 180 linear feet of 4 inch CI Sanitary Sewer Pipe.Install approximately 180 linear feet of 6 inch PVC Sanitary Sewer Pipe.Install two -6 inch backflow preventersInstall 3-4 ft dia. X 11 ft deep manholes, complete with flat-tops with cast-in rings and bolt down covers.Install 1- 4 ft x 6 ft x 4 ft deep access box inside the TRACON mechanical corridor, complete with flat top and cast in access port. Remove existing insulated chilled water lines to back-up chiller Units 1 & 2, located in the West mechanical courtyard, along with the four butterfly valves.Install new 4 inch diameter insulated chilled water lines, in an elevated position under the primary supply and return lines.Modify the existing I beam supports and adding three additional supports, as required.Install four new insulated butterfly valves in the new installed chilled water lines.Relocate the existing potable water supply line to the modular buildings to an elevated position under the existing primary hot and cold (supply and return lines).Carefully remove the existing flat platform at the west end of the stairs leading to the west modular building, store and at completion of project, reinstall platform to its original position. SPECIAL NOTICESolicitation will be advertised on FBO and Offeror will be required to request access on the solicitation/project through the FBO website to receive the documents. FBO uses the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) for a portion of the vendor authentication process, Offerors must be successfully registered and designate a Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN) in CCR prior to seeking access through FBO. Offeror will be required to submit the Sensitive Security Information included with this synopsis prior to receiving access to the solicitation documents. The completed form can be emailed to kathy.snell@faa.gov The Offeror will be required to monitor FBO for the solicitation/project advertisement and can sign up to watch this opportunity to receive email notification(s) when the solicitation/project is advertised. The solicitation/project will advertise on/or about May 12, 2010 on https://www.fbo.gov Contractor MUST be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at http://www.ccr.gov/. Contract performance time is 60 days. This is a Small Business Set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 237110 and the small business size standard is $33.5 Million. Contractor is expected to perform at least 15% of the work utilizing the contractor's own employees. The dollar range for this project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00 A mandatory (pre-bid) meeting will be conducted; date and time will be provided in the solicitation. All interested contractors must attend this site visit in order to qualify for contract award. Further information is contained in the solicitation package. "This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000. For further information and applicable forms concerning the STLP, call the OSDBU at (800) 532-1169."
