Description

1. The Department of the Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest, proposes to lease Government owned land for agricultural purposes located at the Naval Air Station, Fallon, Nevada, under the process and terms outlined in the Invitation for Bid. 2. Sealed bids must be received Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest, ATTN: Real Estate, Code AM1.JA, 1220 Pacific Highway, Building 127 (Blue Room), San Diego, California, 92132-5190, by 2:00 P.M., Pacific Standard Time (PST), on May 12, 2010. Bids will be opened promptly at 2:00 P.M. (PST). No bids will be accepted after that time. FAX COPIES OF BIDS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED RESPONSIVE. 3. DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY Approximately 164 acres of irrigated farmlind. Term is up to five years. 4. DEPOSIT: Bids must be accompanied by a deposit of 25% of the annual rent, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or U.S. Postal Service Money Order payable to the "Disbursing Officer, DFAS-Cleveland." The bid is to be submitted on a bid form. Failure to submit completed forms and information may be cause for rejection of the bid. 5. Award will be made to the responsible bidder whose bid for the Lease is the highest and is responsive. Bids may be modified or withdrawn by written or telegraphic notice, provided that any such notice is received in the office designated above for submission of bids, prior to 2:00 P.M. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on May 12, 2010. In order to expedite the handling of the Lease execution process, it is imperative that the highest bidder is prepared to have the security/performance bond and Certificate of Insurance prior to the Lease start date. 6. The Department of the Navy reserves the right not to award a lease.
