- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is committed to ensuring that small business, veteran-owned small business (VOSB), service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone small business (HUBZone), small disadvantaged business (SDB), and women-owned (WOSB) small business participate fully in HHS contracting and subcontracting opportunities. To support this commitment, HHS Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) is implementing a Mentor-Protégé Program. The HHS MPP is designed to encourage large prime contractors to provide mutually beneficial developmental assistance to small business, VOSB, SDVOSB, HUBZone, SDB, WOSB small business concerns. The program is designed to expand HHS small business vendor base, increase subcontracting and prime contracting opportunities for small businesses, and foster the establishment of long-term business relationships between HHS large prime contractors and small businesses. Firms interested in the HHS M-P Program may review additional program details published at http://www.hhs.gov/osdbu/m-p/. Firms interested in becoming approved mentor-protégé participants must electronically submit a joint HHS Mentor Protégé Application (MPA) to the HHS OSDBU for review and approval. Please do not call or email contacts, as details are published at the OSDBU website. Submission Deadlines: • Pilot Program. There will be only one application cycle in Fiscal Year (FY) 2010 – June 15, 2010. Applications will be accepted beginning June 1. The submission cycle will be limited to the first 25 MPA received.. • The next FY submission deadlines for MPA are October 15, March 15 and June 15. • Applications received after the established dates will be reviewed during the next reviewing period.
