Description
Quantity: 1 each Heat Treating Basket for a Vertical Furnace, including bars, spacers and pins. The furnace is a Hevi Duty Electric Company Type HD-3684-CAUS, Serial Number 68453 (machine is approximately 60 years old). Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement basket with bars, spacers, and pins or a new manufactured basket with bars, spacers, and pins is acceptable. Heat Treating Basket base material shall be Inconel Alloy, suitable for cyclical temperature service from 65 F degrees to 2000 F degrees at a temperature increase rate of 400 degrees per hour, followed by a holding temperature for up to 10 hours and oil or water quenched at 65 F degrees. The Basket dimensions shall maximize the usable space within the furnace and the quench tanks. The Basket shall fit within a maximum cylindrical space of 38' diameter by 90' height, and shall have a minimum available cylindrical working space of 32' diameter by 70' height, minus any supports. The Basket shall have the means to be supported by both the furnace posts and the crane in the local facility, similar to the links seen in the drawing. The Basket shall have a minimum load capacity of 1000 lbs. The bottom of the Basket shall be able to hold a container with dimensions of 29' length x 17' width. All welding shall be conducted by procedures qualified in accordance with ASME Section IX. The Basket shall be a multi-piece design so that individual parts can be replaced in the event of warping or other damage. A 90% outline drawing is available for review purposes only. It is strongly suggested that interested vendors make a site visit to view the machine and scope of work involved, at vendor’s expense. Manufacturer may propose alternate design and construction suitable for the described service conditions. All dimensions shall be given in U.S. standard units. Any deviations from the described requirements shall require Government review and approval. Required delivery date is 12 weeks after date of award. Quoted price will include delivery to Lakehurst, NJ 08733 (FOB destination). Request copy of drawing by e-mail to Point of Contact (POC) listed, not later than 13 May 2010.
