Description
DARPA-SN-10-32 STRUCTURAL LOGIC PROPOSERS' DAY CONFERENCE DARPA will host a Proposers' Day Conference in support of the DARPA BAA10-54, Structural Logic program on May 7, 2010 at from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in the Booz Allen Hamilton offices located at 3811 N Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22203. The purpose of this conference is to provide information on the Structural Logic program; promote additional discussion on this topic; address questions from potential proposers; and provide a forum for potential proposers to present their capabilities for teaming opportunities. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: DARPA anticipates releasing the BAA for Structural Logic program with the objective to develop and demonstrate adaptive, high performance structural systems. As the demands on military platforms and buildings increase, so does the need for structures that can mitigate the shock and vibrations applied by dynamic environments. Today's structures exhibit limited adaptability and typically achieve only extreme stiffness. The Structural Logic program seeks to enable structural systems that adapt to varying loads and simultaneously exhibit both high stiffness and high damping. By demonstrating the ability to combine stiffness, damping, and adaptive dynamic range in a single structure, the Structural Logic program will enable the design of military platforms, and buildings with the ability to continually change their properties to match the demands of an ever evolving environment. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Participants must register no later than close of business (5:00 PM ET) May 6, 2010, at the following website: https://www.enstg.com/Signup/default.cfm?ThisCode=DAR79019 Conference Code: DAR79019. Directions to the facility and other materials are also available on the website. There is no registration fee for attending this conference. Due to space limitations at the conference facility, attendance will be limited to the first 70 registrants, and no more than 2 representatives per organization. The Proposers' Day will be unclassified and open to the general public. All attendees will be required to present government issued photo identification upon entry to the event. US Citizens are required to submit a US Citizenship Verification form in order to attend this conference. Non-US citizens are required to submit a DARPA Form 60 "Foreign National Visit Request". The completed Citizenship Form or DARPA Form 60 must be faxed to: AJ Diaz, Booz Allen Hamilton, fax 703-248-1934, phone 703-816-5263, no later than close of business May 6, 2010. Both documents are available for download at the registration website. Attendance is not required to propose to the BAA for this program, DARPA-BAA-10-54 Structural Logic. Additionally, attendees who would like to present company overviews, discuss their technology expertise, and/or discuss teaming opportunities in scheduled presentations at the conference may request to do so. Presentations may contain 5 slides and are limited to five (5) minutes each (including logistical issues). Proposers desiring to reserve a time to present at the Proposers' Day Conference should send the request, along with an electronic copy of all material to be presented, to DARPA-SN-10-32@darpa.mil as soon as possible, but no later than May 5, 2010. All material to be displayed at the conference must be approved in advance by both the researching organization and the DARPA Program Manager. The DARPA Program Manager will screen the proposed material for sensitive but unclassified material and approve in advance any presentations. It is the presenter's responsibility to ensure that all material it plans to present at the Proposers' Day Conference has been approved by the research organization in advance. An electronic copy of all material to be presented must be provided to the DARPA Program Manager for review by May 5, 2010. There will be no exceptions to this requirement. After the conference, there will be an opportunity to meet individually with Dr. Aaron Lazarus. Please contact AJ Diaz (DARPA-SN-10-32@darpa.mil), (703) 816-5263 to schedule an individual session.
