Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Acquisitions is seeking responsible offers from qualified contractors capable of providing the following requirement to The National Eye Institute (NEI): Requirement As part of an ongoing CRADA the MOGS/OGVFB/NEI has a need to carry out large scale SNP genotyping on 200 DNA samples. Because of the scale of this project it can most efficiently and economically be carried out through an outside contract with a group experienced in this area and with all equipment and reagents in place. NEI is seeking sources with experience in gene expression and genotyping microarray data production. Preferably sources having developed core competencies around microarray processing. Ability to successfully process RNA and DNA from different tissue types of human and animal, normal and diseased. The need for a highly skilled contractor with the highest quality of data at each point in the process, from sample collection through the release of gene expression and genotyping data into our secure data warehouse is paramount. To have separate laboratory areas for RNA, DNA, cDNA, IVT, PCR and array processing is considered. Purpose The NEI will use the genotyping data supplied to localize regions of the human genome containing risk regions for a variety of ophthalmic genetic diseases. This will allow further characterization of these genetic regions in additional samples available to the MOGS/OGVFB/NEI and its collaborators. Tasks •The contractor will receive 200 verified high quality DNA samples of at least 260 ng each from MOGS/OGVFB/NEI and carry out genotyping on these using the ILLUMINA HUMAN CYTOSNP12 BEADCHIP system. •This will be carried out within 1 month of receiving the samples if possible. MOGS/OGVFB/NEI will be responsible for quality assurance of the submitted DNA samples. •The contractor will be responsible for genotyping and quality assurance of the resulting data. •The contractor will not be responsible for problems with DNA quality or for analysis of the resulting data. Reports -Because of the short duration of the contract there will be no interim reports. -Upon completion of genotyping Gene Logic will submit a single final report with data quality assessment overall, and SNPs analyzed and genotypes for each DNA sample submitted. -This report will be in the form of a csv file suitable for uploading into currently available analytical software including Golden Helix SVS after minimal data manipulation. -The contractor will submit the genotypes as a csv file with sample identifier, SNP or CNV marker, and genotype for each of the DNA samples to MOGS/OGVFB/NEI at 5635 Fisher’s Lane, Rockville Maryland. NOTE The data will be for MOGS/OGVFB/NEI use only and will be held confidentially by The contractor and not used for other work or research. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 541712. Contractors interested in satisfying this requirement shall send offers to The NIH Office of Acquisitions primary point of contact Keith Savage via emailing savagekei@od.nih.gov. Small businesses are encouraged to participate. Responses to this request for quotations are due NLT May 6, 2010. Terms and Conditions of Federal Acquisition Regulation 52.212-4 and 52.212-5 will apply to the anticipated award wherever applicable pertaining to any award generated from this request for quotes.
