Description
Contracting Office Address Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Intermountain EROC, 704 Simms Street, Golden, CO 80401 Description The resulting contract will utilize funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. Interested parties are notified that the inclusion of unique provisions required in implementing the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency, will be required of the successful bidder(s). Bids are being solicited by the USDA, Forest Service from Hub Zone firms for the Libby Creek, Cripple Horse Road and Quartz Creek Road Aggregate Projects Project Locations Libby Creek Aggregate This project consist of crushing 16,326 Tons Grading D-SR Section 703.05 from the Little Cherry Loop Pit and placing on Road 231 (8.80 miles) between Road junction 231 & 2316 and junction 231 & 6743. An additional 7,727 Tons of Grading D-SR Section 703.05 will be crushed and stockpiled in Poorman Pit. This project is located on the Kootenai National Forest on Libby Ranger District. Libby Creek Road #231 begin 11.7 miles south of Libby, MT on Highway 2 and returns to Highway 2, 24.3 miles south of Libby. Cripple Horse Road NFSR #835 Aggregate Placement and Dust Abatement on 10.3 miles from the junction with HWY 37 to the junction with NFSR #4905. This project involves the preparation of the existing road surface and the placement of 4 inches compacted depth of grading D-SR aggregate from a Government owned source (Cripple Horse Pit). Calcium Chloride dust abatement will be applied to the finished surface. There is optional work on four other roads: 5-Mile Road NFSR #48 from the junction with HWY 37 to the junction with NFSR #4893, Warland Creek Reservoir Access Road NFSR #14534, Boundary Mountain Reservoir Access Road NFSR #14519, and Canyon Creek Reservoir Access Road NFSR #4890 From the junction of US Hwy 2 and SR 37 head north on SR 37 approximately 27 miles to Cripple Horse Road #835 on the right. The project begins with aggregate placement at the end of the paved highway apron. Quartz Creek Road #600 Aggregate Placement and Dust Abatement. This project involves the preparation of the existing road surface and the placement of 4 inches compacted depth of 3/4" minus aggregate from a commercial source (Alternate A) OR grading D-SR crushed from a Government owned source (Alternative B). Calcium Chloride dust abatement will be applied to the finished surface. From the junction of US Hwy 2 and SR 37 head north on SR 37 across the Kootenai River Bridge approximately 1 mile to Kootenai River Road on the left. Proceed approximately 5 miles west on Kootenai River Road to Forest Road #600 (Quartz Creek Rd). The project begins with dust abatement at the intersection with Kootenai River Road. Aggregate placement begins at the subdivision entrance on the right approximately 1.2 miles above the junction with Kootenai River Road. Aggregate for Quarts Creek will be resourced from commercial sources or by having the contractor crush available rock from a Government Pit. If the Government Pit option is awarded, the additional option for stockpiling aggriagate (option 4 Stockpile) may be awarded. This requirement is being solicited as a fixed price Invitation for Bids (IFB). Bids are due at 3:00 p.m. MST, June 3, 2010. The solicitation will be available on or about May 3, 2010 and may be downloaded from this site at that time. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Vendors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http:www.ccr.gov and shall complete the On-Line Registration and Certifications Application (ORCA) http://orca.bpn.gov. All responsible sources may submit a response to this announcement which will be considered by this agency.
