Description

Modification is issued to incorporate SECTION 02726 UNPAVED ROAD SURFACING (Driving Surface Aggregate-DSA) which was inadvertently ommitted from the Specifications, and to include the following: National Geodetic Survey (NGS) Bench Mark Reset:The monument shown on the project plans is federal NGS Benchmark that must be replaced outside the project excavation area. The National Park Service will obtain a new NGS brass monument cap and will install it outside the excavation area in a concrete footing prior to the contract notice to proceed being issued after award of this contract. The contractor (survey subcontractor) will be required to collect vertical and horizontal survey data of the both the old and new monuments meeting the standards in the attached NGS Bench Mark Reset Procedures document (pages 3-8). The National Park Service will fill out required data submission forms from the surveyor's notes and submit the required data to the NGS. After the survey data is collected on both the old and new monuments, the old Benchmark monument may be removed as part of the clearing and grubbing and excavation work.
