Description
This is a sole source requirement to GE Aviation. This part hasbeen designated a high reliability part under a formal reliabilityprogram. Probability of failure would be unacceptable from thestandpoint of safety. Cognizant engineering activity has determinedthat data to define and control reliability limits cannot be obtainednor is it possible to draft adequate specifications for this purpose.GE Aviation is the only source that currently meets the standardspecification for qualification.NSN: 2840-00-102-9026 NY.OEM Code: 07482 PN: 9663M08G01.Description: TF39 Engine Turbine Shaft is a rotating shaft to whichturbine disks and blades are attached. Dimensions are approximately 10inches long by 14 inches wide by 14 inches high. Weight isapproximately 25 pounds. Material is A2860 (Steel, Iron and Nickel).Quantity: 18 Each.Destination: FB2039, Tinker AFB OK.Delivery Schedule: 1 each monthly beginning 31 MAR 2011.All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, orquotation, which shall be considered by the agency.One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to Free TradeAgreements.An ombudsman has been appointed to hear and facilitate the resolution ofconcerns from offerors, potential offerors, and others for thisacquisition. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strictconfidentiality as to the source of the concern. The existence of theombudsman does not affect the authority of the program manager,contracting officer, or source selection official. Further, theombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals, thesource selection process, or the adjudication of protests or formalcontract disputes. DO NOT CALL THESE NUMBERS FOR SOLICITATION REQUESTS.Based upon market research, the Government is not using policiescontained in FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in itssolicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interestedparties may identify to the contracting officer their interest andcapability to satisfy the Government's requirement with a commercialitem within 15 days of this notice.Electronic procedures will be used for this solicitation. Requests forWritten Quotation/Proposal will be issued. Only written or faxedrequests received directly from the requestors are acceptable. Theanticipated award date will be 60 to 90 days after the issuance of thisnotice.
