Description
************************************************************************************************************ PLEASE NOTE: PRESOLICITATION NOTICE "NIH-NICHD-CDBPM-10-15-PS" REPLACES "NIH-NICHD-CDBPM-10-15" POSTED ON APRIL 16, 2010. THIS RENUMBERING REFLECTS AN ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGE ONLY. ALL CONTENT, SUBSTANCE, AND INTENT OF THE ORIGINAL NOTICE REMAINS UNCHANGED. This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice. This is not a request for technical or cost proposals. No solicitation is available at this time and requests for solicitation packages will not receive a response. The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), Center for Developmental Biology and Perinatal Medicine, has a requirement to develop multiplexed screening assays for newborn screening that can be automated and utilized in a high throughput environment. NICHD is particularly interested in technologies that screen for "high priority" conditions with current or promising effective therapeutic interventions (e.g., Duchenne muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, severe combined immunodeficiency, lysosomal storage diseases such as Pompe disease, Fabry disease, Krabbe disease, and the mucopolysaccharidoses), which presently lack sensitive and specific tests. The report, "Newborn Screening: Toward a Uniform Screening Panel and System" (httm://mchb.hrsa.gov/screening), commissioned by the Health Resources and Services Administration, identifies some of these "high priority" conditions. A three year, cost reimbursement type contract is anticipated with an award made on or about September 30, 2010. The solicitation will be issued on or about May 3, 2010 in an electronic format only, on this web site (https://www.fbo.gov). Offerors are responsible for routinely checking this web site for any amendments to the solicitation. No individual notification of amendments will be provided. Proposals will be due thirty days after the date of the issuance of the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. The intended procurement will be classified under NAICS 541712. No collect telephone calls will be accepted.
