Description

The U. S. Geological Survey, Geospatial Information Office has a requirement for high-resolution digital orthoimagery covering the five counties and two partial counties comprising the Kansas City metropolitan area. USGS has the opportunity to obtain approximately 2,263 square miles of this orthoimagery from Mid-America Regional Council at 25% of the cost of the entire project because other agencies and local governments will contribute the remaining funds for this project. Imagery requirements are as follows: 6inch and 1 foot resolution; True Natural Color; NAD 83/97 Datum; State Plane Projection (Kansas North Zone & Missouri West Zone); Tiff with associated TFW files, ASPRS Class 1 standards at a target mapscale of 1' = 100' for 6 inch resolution and 1' = 400' for 1 foot resolution for the 2,263 square miles area of Kansas City. Approximately 94% of the project is 6 inch and 6% is 1 foot. Data Delivery: January 30, 2011. Based on information available at this time and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253, implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the government considers the item specified as a sole source from Mid-America Regional Council, 600 Broadway, suite 300, Kansas City, MO 64105-8393 and proposes to negotiate with that firm only. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services and provide considerable cost sharing are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered a non-response to this request without further consideration. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business May 4, 2010 by 3:00 P.M. Mountain Standard Time. This notice represents the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
