Description
DARPA-BAA-10-44 (InSPIRE).pdf (Adobe pdf file) DARPA is soliciting innovative research and development proposals in the areas of small satellite design, integration, testing, and operations, as well as science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education program development and management and crowd-sourcing activities. The goals of the InSPIRE program are to use the SPHERES platform currently onboard ISS to proliferate rapid, iterative testing of space technologies and to utilize this asset to solicit student and general public participation in the space development process. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems and initiate comprehensive changes to STEM education by increasing student exposure to the complexities of space system development. The full proposal must be submitted per the instructions in Section IV.B of DARPA-BAA-10-44 by 1200 noon (ET) on June 2, 2010 (initial closing), in order to be considered during the initial evaluation phase. While DARPA-BAA-10-44 will remain open until 1200 noon (ET) October 15, 2010 (final closing date/BAA expiration), offerors are warned that the likelihood of funding is greatly reduced for proposals submitted after the initial closing date. For details, please see attached document <DARPA-BAA-10-44 (InSPIRE).pdf>.
