- Provide all plant, labor, equipment, materials and incidentals for the rehabilitation of the 600-Ton Bridge Crane located in the powerhouse at Lower Monumental Dam, Kahlotus, Washington. The bridge crane rehab includes a new bridge drive arrangement with new gear motor drives on four (4) new bridge drive trucks, modification of the lower bridge walkway for installation of the new bridge drives, new cages for the upper bridge access ladders, fall protection anchoring points, new crane access gate, new upstream crane corbel access gate, repair of defective welds, downstream rail clip replacement and rail alignment surveys, new crane corbel fall restraint system, modifications to the bumpers, and new bridge travel and trolley travel limit switches. Major electrical components to be removed and replaced include the main line conductors & collectors, drives, motors, controls, cabinets, crane lights, conduit and cable, and other associated equipment. The existing cab will be replaced with a new fully enclosed operators cab with new warning lights, bells, operators chair with integral crane controls, egress hatch, air conditioning unit, HMI, and remote control devices for bridge travel, trolley travel and auxiliary hoist controls. There are two (2) 300-Ton trolleys requiring rehab and each includes a new fall protection trolley skirt, replacement of trolley drive shaft seals and bearings, repair/replacement of bent rail sweeps, new toe plates, an oil flush for the existing gearboxes for the main hoist, auxiliary hoist and trolley drive, replacement of the cover seal on the upstream auxiliary hoist gearbox only, and modification or replacement of the main hoist high speed shaft. The remaining work for both the main hoist and auxiliary hoist is replacement of motor couplings, drum bearings and seals, wire rope, weighted limit switches, and felt seals on main hoist load blocks. Provide new rotary limit switches, load cell pins, shear pins and shear plates, and rebuild the auxiliary hoist load blocks and refurbish the auxiliary and main hoist load hooks. There is an option to rebuild the existing main hoist load blocks. After complete assembly and alignment, the contractor will conduct post rehabilitation inspection, performance and load testing, training of project personnel in operation and maintenance of the crane. Period of Performance is 320 calendar days. Solicitation No. W912EF-10-R-0031 will be posted to the FBO website on or about May 3, 2010. Proposals will be opened no sooner than 30 calendar days after actual solicitation issuance date. The proposal due date will be contained in the solicitation and any solicitation amendments that may be issued. A site visit will be offered approximately two weeks after the solicitation is made available to offerors. See solicitation for details about the site visit. Solicitation is open to both Large and small business concerns. NAICS code for this project is 238290, and the small business size standard is $14,000,000 average annual receipts.
