- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a series of low-cost, seven (7) degree-of-freedomindustrial robotic systems that can be used to simulate various space robotic platforms. The system should have at least a 102-in. vertical by 64-in. horizontal reach, 0.1mmrepeatability, and a 50kg payload capacity. Because it will be used to simulate dynamicresponse of space robots, the system should have absolute and incremental joint sensingand allow for joint angle updates up to 500Hz.The robotic system should come in varioussizes with identical kinematic configurations allowing for separate operational anddevelopment units. The control system must support Linux and perform singularityavoidance and collision prevention. Delivery of the system shall be within 16 - 18 weeksARO.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Motoman Incorporated pursuant to FAR 13.106,for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably available fromonly one source.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 2:30PM EST on datelisted above. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
