Description
V-22 Vehicle Requirements GAARV SRD Request for Information (RFI) for the Guardian Angel Air-Deployable Rescue Vehicle (GAARV) 1. The Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC) is soliciting information to identify possible sources to provide an air-droppable, surface recovery platform capable of maneuvering over adverse terrain in order to search for and recover isolated personnel (IP) and/or equipment, while also providing the capability of transporting the recovery team and the IP from an area of high threat to a defendable location for recovery by aircraft or self recovery to the final destination. The GAARV will be able to be deployed and recovered using airdrop, rapid on/off load, or sling load techniques by most existing and future fixed wing and heavy vertical lift rescue aircraft. The all-terrain capability inherent to the GAARV will also make this vehicle highly suited to hurricane response and other humanitarian relief operations by allowing teams to traverse streets flooded with up to 3 feet of water and piles of debris. The increased cargo capacity of the GAARV will provide the ability to transport medical and extrication equipment, in addition to extra supplies for survivors and the rescue team into the locations where it is needed most urgently. This RFI supersedes and replaces RFI FA8629-10-R-XXXX originally posted on 9 October 2009. Program Summary Program will consist of COTS and developmental technology that can meet the requirements identified in this document. Please provide relevant information on training, logistics support and warranties. This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for informational purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or commit the government to award a contract now or in the future. Submitting information for this RFI is voluntary, and participants will not be compensated. Respondents to this RFI should describe their ability to meet and/or exceed the (T) = Threshold (T) and Objective (O) requirements in: Attachment 1: GAARV SRD v1.9.1 dated 9 April 2010 Attachment 2: "Transportability of wheeled vehicle systems in the V -22" (SERAIR 435DM/5.5147 dated 9 April 2008) FOC requires fielding of 58 GAARV's and establishment of training program and sustainment/ reconstitution systems. Material. The sustainment plan will include support of the system in home base and field operations. It is anticipated that two levels of maintenance will be used: Unit and Depot level. Two (2) paper copies should be submitted to the program office as outlined below. Paper copies shall be clearly labeled "Proprietary/Competition Sensitive Information" on the cover sheets and, in close proximity to this type of information, on each applicable page. Proprietary/Competition sensitive information will be protected from disclosure. E-mail copies of the paper submittal will be accepted. Responses shall be received no later than 27 April 2010 at 12:00 PM Eastern time. Paper/e-mail submittals should be sent to 670 AESS/SYKA, Attn: Rob Holdsworth, (Com: 937-255-7165, e-mail: Robert.Holdsworth@wpafb.af.mil), Bldg 46, 1895 Fifth Street, WPAFB OH 45433-7200.
