Questions & Answers (13 April 2010) Q1. Please confirm which BMC Remedy IT Service Management Applications are requested to be installed and configured. Which of the following modules: BMC Remedy Service Desk (Incident and Problem Management), Asset Management, Change Management, Service Level Management, Knowledge Management, etc.? A1. All Q2. Will the installation and implemented be performed on separate Development, Test, and Production environments? Please provide information on the hardware and database that will be used for the implementation (Windows, UNIX, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) A2. Production env. SQL server on Win Server 2003 Q3. Please confirm what data you would like to migrate into the new Remedy 7.6 system? Will it only be the foundation data or are you looking to migrate all existing tickets as well? If so, please provide estimate on the volume to be migrated. A3. We are looking to migrate historical inventory detail from our previous server. No ticket inforamtion. Q4. Please confirm which mobile systems you would like integrated. Is it the Aeroprise solution? If so, please confirm which version. A4. It is Aeroprise, version? Q5. Is there a requirement for LDAP integration? Is there a requirement for CAC integration? A5. No Q6. Please confirm the number of custom AR applications that will be migrated to the new Remedy 7.6 implementation. Please provide a general description of each of the custom applications. A6. --- AWAITING RESPONSE Q7. Please confirm that the work must be completed with in 3 weeks of start date. As a BMC Remedy Implementation Partner we have vast amount experience with Remedy ITSM 7.x implementations and the Installation, Integration, Configuration, Testing, Training, and Deployment cannot be completed within 3 weeks. Are you willing to review proposals with a completion date longer than 3 weeks? A7. Yes we are willing to review completeion dates longer than 3 weeks, however we would like to have install and intiail training completed within 3 weeks of contract award. Note: Q8. On what Operating System and Version is the current system running? A8. No current approval process, anyone can submitt tickets, processed through sharepoint. Q9. On what Operating System and Version will the new deployment be made? A9. Win Server 2003 Q10. On what Database and Version is the current system running? A10. MicroSoft SQL 2000 Q11. On what Database and Version is the new system to be deployed on? A11. MicroSoft SQL 2005 Q12. Is their a preference for Silent Install (scripted) or the Graphical Installer? A12. None Q13. Will there be System Administrator resources available with root access? A13. yes Q14. Will there be Database Administrator (DBA) resources available with ability to create the appropriate user and roles? A14. yes Q15. What is the Vendor name of the mobile application? A15. Aeroprise Q16. What is the manufacturer of the smart device? Q16. Don't know yet Q17. How Many End Users need to be trained? A17. 30 Q18. How Many Administrators need to be trained? A18. 3 Q19. Does training need to be conducted within the 3 week schedule for "Work"? A19. Does your organization currently submit SOC tickets ? A20. SOC ?? Work order tickets = yes Q21. Does your organization interface with US Cert ? A21. No Q22. Is FIPs 140-2 encryption required ? Is there an interest in using BMCs Impact Simulator ? A25. Maybe Q26. Is there existing custom workflow ? What's the purpose of these customizations ? A26. Reports, Stats results, queries etc. Q27. Has Change Management been implemented ? A27. Change management will be implemented once we go live. Q28. Is there an existing Approval Process for ticket submissions ? A28. No current approval process, anyone can submitt tickets, processed through sharepoint. Q29. There is a 6 year span from the old version (5.1) to the new version (7.6), have the new features' configuration decisions been made? A29. No Q30. Have efforts been taken to convert your existing CTIs to Operational and Product Tiers ? A30. ?? - not yet Q31. Please describe the environment such as OS, database, web server, etc. A31. See Q9 and Q11. Q32. Is there a development, test and production environment? A32. Production Q33. What are the Remedy software installed in 5.1 environment? A33. ARS, Import, License, Alert, Admin and User Q34. DO you expect to migrate from old ITSM to ITSM 7.6? A34. Maybe Q35. Do you expect to install Remedy components to all three environments? A35. Just on production, for now. Q36. Have done any customization to ITSM? A36. N/A Q37. Do you have any custom Remedy ARS application? A37. None Q38. How many New Record and Alert rules do you expect to create? A38. Numerous Q39. How many Mobile client do you expect to install? A39. --- AWAITING RESPONSE Q40. How many End users and Admin to be trained? A40. 30 End-Users. 3 Administrators. Q41. Do the employee of contractor need to have Security clearance to be able to provide service at Travis AFB? A41. No Q42. What version of Remedy ARS is currently in place? Is the ARS engine also going to be upgraded as part of this solicitation? A42. Version 5.1, Yes for upgrade.
