- This is a sources sought notice ONLY for the purpose of gaining market knowledge of potential small business sources that are interested in performing the effort described herein. The NAICS code for this requirement is 339999 and has a small business size standard not to exceed 500 employees. The Product Manager Force Sustainment Systems (PMFSS) is seeking technical information on the capabilities to produce the Mobile Integrated Remains Collection System (MIRCS), (NSN: 4110-01-534-7675 Tan), (NSN: 4110-01-534-7676 Green). This requirement is to perform the necessary tasks for production of the MIRCS system and accessories, as well as, conduct of First Article Testing (FAT), and maintaining quality and configuration control throughout the life of the contract. The approximate total requirement is 100 MIRCS systems at a production rate of 2-4 systems per month. No solicitation document exists at this time. A product level Technical Data Package (TDP) and product specification will be furnished if or when a determination to solicit offers is made. The MIRCS is a modular, self-contained ISO compatible (International Organization for Standardization) platform that will be used for processing and storing human remains to support U.S. Army Mortuary Affairs operations. The unit has a refrigerated storage area capable of storing 16 remains, a processing area, an administrative area, and supply storage compartments. The system is based on an integrated ISO frame with fold down platforms and expandable soft walls. An on-board Tactical Quiet Generator (TQG) deploys on rollers and is held in place with two support bars. Platforms located on the ISO frame sides fold down to form work surfaces. The MIRCS also has an on-board internal environmental control capability for operation in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 120 F. Two mobile processing platforms are included for processing remains and moving remains into, out of, and about the interior of the MIRCS. Four temporary remains shelters are included with room to temporarily hold 24 remains. The MIRCS comes equipped with all components necessary to deploy, move, and operate in support of military and peacetime operations. The MIRCS is transportable via a Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) with Load Handling System (LHS). Interested contractors shall submit literature about their companies production and engineering capabilities, business size and any other pertinent information related to the effort described herein.
