- UPDATED announcement text Request for Information(RFI): Landscaping and Site Restoration at Beaver Island State Park, Buffalo, NY *Note: This notice seeks to identify capable sources and gather information, including pricing estimates. This is not a formal solicitation. 1. Background: Achieving control of United States borders is a key mission of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP), Secure Border Initiative is a comprehensive, multi-year plan to achieve this key mission, prevent terrorism and eliminate illegal immigration. In April 2007, Congress directed CBP to begin addressing vulnerabilities on the U.S.-Canada border. The SBI Northern Border Project includes the installation of a Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) on a monopole tower at Beaver Island State Park (located at 2136 West Oakfield Road, Grand Island, NY 14072). 2. Desired Information: The installation of the monopole tower at Beaver Island State Park has been completed, and the immediate area requires landscaping and site restoration. CBP seeks sources capable of performing tasks including the following: (a) Grade and put down topsoil over approximately 2,200 square foot area adjacent to stone road. (b) Trench and install 4-inch drainage pipe over approximately 150 feet. Trench is approximately 2-feet wide and approximately 12 to 18 inches wide. Trench backfilled with clear stone. Filter fabric will be used between stone and soil/seeding. (c) Remove 2 stumps. Grind 1 additional stump. (d) Remove rock and debris (by landscape raking or other methods) and seed along approximately 100-foot long electric trench. (e) Remove rock and debris from earthen berms and plant seed and wildflowers. There are 5 berms: 2 are approximately 150 feet long, 2 are approximately 100 feet long, and 1 is approximately 50 feet long. Please submit information about your firm (name, location(s), expertise, or other information you believe would be useful) and if possible pricing estimates for these tasks. Lump sum estimates for tasks or estimates per foot/unit/task are both acceptable. 3.
