Description
Synopsis THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. The Department of Veterans Affairs Seattle Regional Office intends to award a sole source procurement to a Veteran Owned Small Business under the authority of 38 USC 8127(b) and VAAR 819.7007. This constitutes the only announcement; and a written solicitation will not be issued. Description: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Benefits Administration, Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Service (VR&E) has a requirement to provide Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Services for the Seattle Regional Office. The area of service includes the following Washington counties: Pierce, Thurston, Lewis, Pacific, Grays Harbor, Mason, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, and Cowlitz. The VR&E Service requirement is for Chapter 31 Initial Evaluation, as follows: The Initial Assessment shall provide the VR&E counselor with sufficient information about the Veteran's prior education, work history, military experience, and the vocational impact of disabilities in relation to the work environment/requirements and to support a determination of entitlement. The initial assessment shall also provide collaborative vocational exploration; analysis of transferable skills; evaluation of interests, aptitudes, and abilities; exploration of labor market conditions; and collaboration with the Veteran in the development of a draft rehabilitation plan leading to determination of feasibility to achieve a vocational goal, entry into suitable employment, and/or maximum independence in the community. The VA may order portions of an initial assessment: vocational/medical assessment, vocational exploration or transferable skills. The VA intends to award one contract for the above-mentioned service/requirement. The contract will be a performance based fixed price contract. The period of performance for the awarded contract will be forty-five (45) calendar days, with an estimated start date of April 14, 2010. The dollar value of the award will be $99,450.00. THIS REQUIREMENT IS SOLE SOURCE FOR A VETERAN OWNED CONCERN. Award will be made on a sole source basis to Floyd and Associates (VOSB), in accordance with VAAR 819.7007. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 624310 and the size standard is $7 million. The Classification Code is R. Telephonic inquires will not be accepted.
