- Description
- This is a pre-solicitation MARKET SURVEY to obtain commercial information relative to (1) The replacement of 4 new Elevating Transfer Vehicle (ETV) hoist ropes and associated material to replace existing ETV hoist ropes on the Mechanized Material Handling System (MMHS). THIS IS A CUSTOMIZED MMHS constructed by Lodige Industries. (2) All replacement work and parts must meet the requirements of the technical manual and all updates. The time and length of this repair shall be based on manufacturer's technical specifications. The hours of operation required for these inspections shall be coordinated in advance with the authorized government personnel. Place of Performance: The MMHS is located at 305 Aerial Port Squadron, building 1757, Vandenberg Avenue, McGuire, NJ. System Configuration: The MMHS consists of two (2) elevating transfers, six (6) 463L pallet/lift dock levelers, fifteen (15) staging dock conveyors, one (1) multiple pallet staging dock and eighty-seven (87) storage decks. This system was designed, built and installed by Lodige Industries. Specific Tasks: The Contractor shall provide all materials, labor and equipment to fully perform the following work: a. Replace 2 ETV Hoist ropes per ETV for a total of 4: The contractor shall provide parts and replace 4 hoist ropes for the 2 ETVs on the MMHS in accordance with Lodige technical specifications. b. Major Duties: The ETVs require precise vertical positioning information (within 1/8"). This must be programmed/reset following rope replacement. The conveyor deck must be level within 1/8" so both ropes have to be right length within a tight tolerance. After replacement of the ropes several safety systems must be correctly reset and tested. 87th Contracting Squadron is conducting market research ONLY. No award will be made as a result of this synopsis nor are any solicitation materials available. Information requested includes commercial methodologies and practices relative to the above maintenance and repair services, including contract type(s), known market forces, challenges to successful acquisition and current industry standards, processes and practices(e.g. terms and conditions, warranties, financing, etc.).
