Description
C-130 Avionics Modernization Program (AMP), Heads-Up Display (HUD) Data Capture The C-130 AMP Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) Team has a requirement to capture and record Heads Up Display(s) (HUD) video data. The HUD itself and associated electronics are proven Rockwell-Collins Line Replaceable Units (LRU) Information displayed on the C-130 AMP HUD is generated by the HUD Electronics Unit (HEU); this LRU has a separate maintenance output port which can tapped for data. This data stream consists of X-Y-Z stroke signals. These signals shall be converted to a standard industry format such as "raster video". This HEU output will be fed into a Heim IRIG 106 Chapter 10 data recorder, Model D200f. The Heim and associated VCR40/80 interface card will archive the HUD video data in the Chapter 10 format onto a removable data storage cartridge. While recording, the Heim also provides the means to decom the HUD video and display it in near real-time to the operators. Current AMP schedule requires this capability in late CY 2010. The vendor will provide interface and data processing support during integration; this support will be on-site at Edwards AFB, CA. Prior to any flight test, the unit will be ground tested by Government personnel to ensure data fidelity and clarity at the desired data sampling rate. Ground test includes post-mission playback of the recorded files for review by the Cognizant Test Engineers. The ground test facility is located at the Boeing Long Beach facility. Additional information is provided here. The Government/Boeing Test Team employs the Instrumentation Loading Integration Analysis Decommutation (ILIAD) Toolset to process and re-play data collected by the Heim D200f. The initial integration and demonstration will be required in October 2010. The proposed solution must meet DT&E Class T-2 Aircraft Modification Standards. Ground test support for integration and checkout is anticipated to be two (2) weeks on-site at Edwards AFB. A minimum of two (2) each units are required; options should be proposed for a third and fourth unit for formation testing such as Station Keeping Equipment (SKE) evaluations.
