Description
The Vermont Air National Guard Contracting Office intends to award on a sole source basis under authority of FAR 13.501 to Remotec Incorporated, 353 J.D. Yarnell Pkwy, Clinton, TN for the following: 1 ea Power Hawk Assembly, P/N E2455-7500-2. This assembly is designed specifically for use with the Remotec Andros F6 robot already owned by the Vermont Air National Guard. The basis for restricting competition is that Remotec Inc. is currently the sole manufacturer of this assembly. The Air Force Civil Engineering Support Agency (AFCESA) requires the use of the Remotec Andros F6 robot and the Power Hawk Assembly. No other commercially available attachments offer the same capabilities as the Power Hawk Assembly which is also compatible with the Remotec Andros F6 robot. This sole source requirement will be procured under FAR Part 12 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Subpart 6.3 Other Than Full and Open Competition. It will be awarded on an Unrestricted basis. The Justification and Approval (J&A) citing the authority of FAR 6.302-1, will be uploaded shortly for public inspection. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS and a solicitation will not be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion for the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source to the manufacturer Remotec Inc. Responses are due by 21 April 2010, 4:00 p.m. (EDT). Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to the following address: andrew.anderson@ang.af.mil or faxed responses will be accepted at (802) 660-5354. Telephone requests or inquires will not be accepted. The point of contact is TSgt Andrew Anderson at (802) 660-5443 or andrew.anderson@ang.af.mil.
